What a QR code reader tells you
A QR code is just encoded text. Reading it reveals exactly what is inside before you act on it — which is the point: you get to see the destination URL instead of blindly opening it.

Check a link before you open it
QR phishing (quishing) works because the destination is invisible until you tap. Reading the code first lets you inspect the real domain, spot lookalike spellings, and notice shortened links that hide the final destination. If the domain does not match the business that printed the code, do not open it.
